5C Autumn 2 Week 7

What a busy last few weeks at school!

Amidst all the excitement of Advent, Reconciliation Service, Carol Concerts, Violin and Brass Concerts, Nativities, Spelling Bees, Christmas Lunch and a class party, 5C have continued to learn:

We have been writing diary entries as Mary at three different stages of her pregnancy.  We wrote about the initial, overwhelming feelings of joy Mary felt during the annunciation as well as how she felt after visiting her cousin Elizabeth, who was also expecting a baby. We discussed the ways the women could support each other whilst they waited for their important babies to arrive. Finally, we wrote about how Mary felt during the long journey to Bethlehem in the final days before the birth  of Jesus.  The diary entries were excellent and showed real sympathy for Mary going through such a life changing experience.

We reflected on the true meaning of Advent and thought of ways that we could prepare to welcome Jesus into our lives at this time of year.  Some of…
